When WTF meets religion

Okay, this is already linked to by Tom and August and I'm sure many others, but in case you haven't seen it yet, you must look at this.

The soldier is in God's hands, and by the looks, he'll need all the protection he can get, 'cause he is green. Cannon fodder would give this soldier too much credit.

But still, hasn't most evil in history been perpetrated by people who were certain that God was on their side? Like, for instance, September 11?
